Yesterday I spent a wonderful afternoon at the Doreen Valiente exhibition at Preston Manor.
The weather was probably against too many people participating in the Talks, the Poetry and the Ritual but in a way I am glad. For whilst there were not too many present it meant there was plenty of opportunity for meeting people and chatting afterwards.
It was quite simply the best day I have had for a long time, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The exhibition alone was worth going for, but when you add in all the rest it was obviously one of those days that was simply meant to be.
Thankyou to those spirits that gave me a kick up the backside to get moving today and also to Steph, Tam and Ashley & co for all your hard work.
It was good to meet you, and Maggie. You have all been most uplifting and encouraging and the echos will continue to be heard for quite some time to come.
Now I am looking forward to seeing actress Peta Taylor, playing the part of Doreen in an upcoming play about her life in Brighton planned to run from 21st to 27th November to coincide with Witchfest coming to Brighton for the first time this year………
Doreen – An English Witch is being staged by Normal People Productions, co-written by Archie Caine and Roman Withers, and features well-known local actress Peta Taylor in the titular role.
“The play will be a talking head style play, featuring a single set throughout, and will see Doreen tell stories of her life, ranging from meeting Gerald Gardner al the way to her last partner with the help of a training postulate,” explains Withers. ()
